Lake Mednoye: Koi carp and cozy carp fishing

Advice for beginners: rules of light carp fishing
Lake Mednoye is a high-level water with strict tackle restrictions. Heavy carp gear is not allowed here, which makes every fight feel more sporting.

Tackle preparation:
You need spinning reels up to size 6000 with at least 16 kg drag, plus feeders or pickers rated around 20 kg. The small size of the lake makes it possible to land strong fish even with limited line capacity.

Tactic (Farm and XP):
If your bottom fishing skill is still below 100%, use the proven Yantarnoye setup: corn or a small boilie plus dip. Feed the spot every 30 minutes with a spod or by hand for a very fast pace.

Main catch:
Common and mirror carp, crucian-carp hybrids, barbel, and tench make up the bulk of the catch, with the first colorful koi as a pleasant bonus.

For experienced anglers: hunting the rarities
For advanced RF4 players, Mednoye is all about carefully targeting rare koi colors.

Trophy tactic: Use larger boilies and PVA sticks with your own groundbait recipe to cut out small fish and wait for that trophy koi or a heavy Super Friks.

Why visit the cafe?
The cafe on Mednoye rotates quickly and often asks for fish that bites here all the time.

What to turn in: Ordinary carp, crucian-carp hybrids, tench, and crucian carp.
Benefit: Expensive orders for colored koi or English carp appear from time to time, so the monitor helps you sell rare fish at the best price.
